ZSL Fundraising Gala Officer

Full-time, fixed-term contract until 27 June 2014

The Zoological Society of London (ZSL) is a charity committed to the worldwide conservation of animals and their habitats. The Development department are looking for a proactive and organised individual to join the team as the ZSL Fundraising Gala Officer on a fixed term contract from December 2013 to the end of June 2014.

This is a new role to deliver ZSL’s inaugural annual fundraising Gala on Wednesday 21^st May 2014. The post holder will work with the Gala Committee, operationally co-ordinate the onsite event logistics, create a fundraising Gala Operational Committee, and lead in all stages of the event planning and delivery of the Gala to create an imaginative, entertaining and unique fundraising event. The event will secure significant new philanthropic income for ZSL and will actively build our network of donors and supporters. 

We are looking for an individual with excellent prioritising skills, creativity and the ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines. Excellent communication skills are vital as the individual will be working with a cross section of departments throughout ZSL. The successful individual will need to have a proven track record in planning and running successful special events (preferably with Galas).
