Research Coordinator (full time year 1, 1/4 time year 2) This role will be responsible for coordinating research and undertaking a sizeable amount of research and administration.  The Coordinator will be in touch with all members of the research team and many of the wider research contacts. They will oversee the logistics of the research process including the seminars, and peer review process. A core tool for the Research Coordinator will be the online collaboration application ActiveColab. Under the supervision of the Research Director, the key work areas to include:

 
  • Assist the Research Director to deliver a successful research project which supports the project aims, including: planning, budgets and timescale
  • Bring broad competence in all areas of the research work to benefit the project, guided by the research director:
  • Organise and run research seminars to contribute to research programme
  • Manage and integrate contributions from:
    • CAT staff
    • Students of CAT’s GSE
    • External experts and organisations
  • Commission and use online research tools to overview, manage and integrate research work
  • Liaise with the energy modeller to further develop the ZCB Scenario.
  • Coordinate 9 subject specific working groups
  • Develop and manage peer review process
  • Devise and implement administration processes to meet the research needs of the project
  • To actively participate in project outreach, presenting the findings of the research externally and within CAT
  • Manage personnel and recruitment
  • Oversee project budget to actual reviews on a quarterly basis
  • Assist all members of the project team in efficient and effective delivery
  • Up-date and manage the contents of the ZCB website, in consultation with the CAT website team.
  • Any other tasks as requested
 Key Skills: 

The successful candidate will be dynamic, self – motivated, diplomatic, have good written English, media aware, ICT competent, numerate, reliable, and offer a smart and presentable appearance.

 

Knowledge of climate change, energy security, renewable energy and economics would be desirable.
