CAT’s Zero Carbon Britain (ZCB) research and communications work has for several years been re-shaping how contemporary society thinks about decarbonisation. ZCB offers a rigorous positive scenario and framework for how the UK could rapidly decarbonise rapidly across all sectors whilst maintaining a good, modern standard of living for all. The ZCB project team will take a primary role in leading on these research and communications themes. As part of this team, the Energy Systems Researcher will carry out academically rigorous research into energy efficiency and renewable energy. We are looking for someone who can help us address some of the toughest challenges on the past to a safer, more sustainable future.

 

MAIN PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB

 

The post-holder will be part of a team which will develop the new ZCB report, building on work to date, increasing the detail and integrating the latest developments across a range of technologies. This role will be responsible for coordinating research and undertaking a sizeable amount of energy related research. The Energy Systems Researcher will keep in touch with all members of the ZCB research team and many of the wider research contacts. They will oversee the logistics of the research process including the seminars, and peer review process.
