Aldeas de Paz is a sustainable, grassroots NGO, located in Santa Barbara de Samana on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean in the northeastern part of the Dominican Republic. This organization has founded in 2001 in Venezuela, and we have operated our activities for 13 years there. We seek to promote cultural exchange between locals and international volunteers that fosters peace and empowers children and young people.
We give volunteers and Interns the opportunity to make a difference in the local community, while meeting individuals from different cultures and backgrounds, learning Spanish and enjoying the breathtaking landscapes of the Dominican Republic. Our Volunteers gain valuable experience and become role models for change worldwide.
We are run exclusively by the efforts and through the creativity of our Volunteers and Interns. We support local youth by giving them additional educational and recreational opportunities that they would otherwise be unable to receive. Volunteering with us makes a real difference and is extremely rewarding for our volunteers and interns.
