The Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) is a private, non-profit organization that prides itself on its entrepreneurial, science-based, non-confrontational approach to achieving conservation success. Since its establishment in 1962, NCC and its supporters have protected close to 2 million acres (800,000 hectares) of natural habitat across Canada. NCC has seven regional offices across the country with a national office in Toronto. OVERVIEW NCC's Conservation Volunteers (CV) program engages people in conserving biodiversity, while providing a meaningful and educational experience in ecologically significant natural areas. The CV program offers 1-3 day work events where volunteers join NCC’s professional conservation staff to accomplish priority conservation work. The types of events offered through the CV program include: restoration (tree planting, seed collection); inventories and monitoring (birds, plants, insects); threat abatement and mitigation (invasive species removal, fencing, trail building) and many other activities. NCC is searching for a CV Intern who will work directly with National Conservation Volunteers Program Manager. The CV Intern will focus on the research and development of partnerships with other organizations in an effort to broaden the impact of the Program. The CV Intern will also have the opportunity to learn about and support the implementation of the 2011 CV program events. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
