Job Summary
The Welsh Institute for Sustainable Education (WISE) Building is a state of the art structure reflecting
CAT’s commitment to providing a forum for education and debate in relation to the environment. It is anticipated that in excess of 10,000people will attend WISE in its first year of opening and we are forming our a WISE facilities team to service and assist in the smooth running of the building.

The role will involve a variety of work and working patterns including shift work a 7 days a week operation period, allowing the building to be used effectively and efficiently throughout the year. As part of the facilities team you will be able to work under your own initiative providing the very highest standards contributing to the success of managing WISE.

Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the Facilities Manager, to take responsibility for the following:

· Preparing seminar rooms, workshops and the Theatre for events, this will entail moving tables and chairs.

· Being present at reception as a first point of contact, booking in visitors, assisting with and responding to queries in a courteous manner to queries.

· Issuing keys and keeping a log book of keys issued.

· Using Rendezvous electronic booking system, for which training will be provided.

· Being a fire warden with responsibility for evacuation procedures in emergencies.

· Carrying out regular safety/security checks ensuring escape routes are not blocked and the building is secure.

· Ensuring that the building is used at all times in the appropriate manner, and reporting any damage to the building or equipment.

· To report immediately damage to the building.

· Carrying out regular checks of toilets and ensuring there cleanliness and keeping them stocked with toilet paper and paper towels.

· Assisting the WISE cleaner in carrying out other cleaning duties as and when required.

· Assisting with stripping out and preparing bedrooms for new occupants.

· Ensuring that bed linen is laundered returned and stored.

· Monitoring and reporting on stock levels of consumable items.

· Being available on a call-out rota.

· Attending regular WISE facilities team meetings.
