WindHelm Project Engineer

Reference: AMS/07/59 (Technical)

Location: Americas - Americas - USA, Austin, TX

Travel Requirement: The employee is required to travel to assigned project site locations and conference; travel time up to 3-5 days every month is expected.

Role Purpose

An opportunity exists in our Operational Services Group for a Windhelm Project Engineer. The Windhelm Project Engineer - North America position is based in our Austin, TX North America office. 

The primary focus of this role is to support the execution of one or more concurrent WindHelm SCADA and Portfolio Management projects in North America.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

. Responsible for supporting the Team Leader in the configuration, implementation, and commissioning of WindHelm systems in North America.
. Assist the Team Leader with interfacing with customers and their engineering staff to define WindHelm SCADA and Portfolio Management  system and network design needs and requirements.
. Support project management from customer commitment through completed site installation, commissioning and service.
. Coordinate and document project plans and communications flow on the project.
. Coordinate the order and shipment of equipment/hardware for new and existing WindHelm systems.
. Manage network and device communications problem resolutions.
. Technical support for project under warranty or service and maintenance agreement.

Person Specification

To be successful in this role, and our business, you will need to demonstrate the following qualification, professional expertise and personal attributes:

Technical / Professional Expertise

. SCADA or other control systems including network design, installation and commissioning;
. Enterprise management systems and historians such as OSIsoft PI;
. Ability to read engineering schematics.
. Modbus protocol and RTU communications;
. Fiber-optic Ethernet networks, TCP/IP, OPC and DNP 3.0 protocols;
. Analog and/or digital controls and metering device installation, test, calibration and/or modification;
. MS Windows Server 2003, SQL Server, Structure Query Language;
. MS Project and MS Office applications including Visio.

Competency Requirements

. Demonstrated ability to bring in small projects or portions of large projects on time and within budget.
. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
. Client management and support experience.
. Organized and experienced with project management tools and methodologies.
