Role Summary/Purpose:
The Wind Turbine Manufacturing Engineer demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals. In this role of Wind Turbine Manufacturing Engineer, you will:
Essential Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain manufacturing methods and create process routings - Design and build / procure necessary tooling and finishing within budgets - Support equipment upgrades from purchase through installation - Conduct cost / benefit analysis for changes to processes and/or equipment - Support Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) projects in cell - Drive Process Improvement / Cycle Reduction initiatives and drive productivity improvements via process changes or improvements - Ensure processes contribute to a safe work environment - Identify and reduce sources of labor efficiency variations - Identify and reduce product quality issues caused by process variation - Support the quality function through integration of International Organization for Standardization (ISO) / Quality Control (QC) documentation and Manufacturing methods Instructions - Lead high impact process and quality improvement projects yielding significant reduction in defects and increased productivity in the Cell - Attend weekly cross-functional quality sessions and track / drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for Cell issues - Lead New Technology Initiatives (NTI) and share best practices with other locations - Utilize lean-manufacturing principles and participate in action workouts to improve process capability, reduce overall costs and increase capacity
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college (or High School Diploma / GED and a minimum of 4 years of manufacturing or operations experience)
