Role Summary/Purpose: The Wind Turbine Maintenance Technician performs simple to very complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repairs on a variety of production machinery / equipment in a wind turbine manufacturing facility. In this role, you will:

Essential Responsibilities - Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on all aspects of plant infrastructure and operations 
- Service cranes, compressors, pumps, fork trucks, machine tools, and hydraulic and pneumatic equipment 
- Repair electro-mechanical equipment using standard maintenance procedures 
- Perform equipment and vehicle inspections 
- Operate plant equipment and tooling (i.e. Cranes, Fork Trucks, Torqueing Tools) 
- Participate in various Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and ergonomic assessments of assigned processes

Qualifications/Requirements: - Associates Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Electronic Technology, or related technical discipline 
- Minimum of 3 years of consecutive full time experience in an industrial environment performing mechanical and electrical repairs and/or maintenance on heavy machinery and plant facilities

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: 

- Ability and willingness to work on elevated platforms and/or high places 
- Must be able to troubleshoot electro-mechanical equipment (print reading, precise measurements, machine tool set-up, alignment, industrial mathematics required) 
- Must be able to read, understand, and interpret electrical schematics 
- Ability and willingness to work emergency call-in repairs 
- Ability and willingness to work holidays, as required 
- Ability and willingness to work weekends, as required 
- Ability and willingness to work overtime, as required 
- Ability and willingness to work on short – notice, as required

Desired Characteristics - Thorough understanding of electrical controls systems, schematics, AC and DC motors controls and drives, control logic and troubleshooting (if specialized in electrical maintenance) and/or thorough understanding of mechanical equipment, maintenance practices, and inspection techniques (if specialized in mechanical maintenance) 
- Thorough understanding of mechanical equipment, maintenance practices, and inspection techniques 
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards 
- Must be able to work from verbal instructions as well as blueprints, and/or working drawings 
- Must be able to scope materials and parts required for installations and repairs 
- Must have the ability to quickly assess the work to be performed and complete the task safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively 
- Working knowledge of LOTO, industrial codes and standard procedures (ANSI, NEC, NFPA, OSHA) 
- Must be able to work independently with a minimum of supervision 
- Extensive heavy industrial mechanical troubleshooting experience 
- Strong electronics troubleshooting background 
- Experienced industrial licensed electrician preferred (if specialized in electrical maintenance) 
- Overhead bridge crane inspection, crane maintenance, and crane repair experience desired 
- Ability to work within a team environment, be a dependable & accountable self-starter, and have organizational skills 
- Crane troubleshooting experience 
- Strong VFD, PLC, Drives knowledge 
- 3-Phase 480 Volt Electrical experience 
- Strong electro-mechanical knowledge desired 
- Machine tool experience and the ability to perform and / or assist in other electro-mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance processes are desired 
- Welding skills a plus
