My client is a leading developer of onshore renewable energy projects across the South America, they are market leaders in hydro, biomass, and solar and are now looking to expand their already strong pipeline of wind developments. They are have worked throughout the South America and across Mediterranean Europe providing advice and skills throughout the entire process of the wind farm development process.

 

Position Overview:

You will  act as the departmental specialist in the collection, storage and analysis of wind data, the modelling of wind flows, annual energy prediction calculation, in order to support the development of prospective wind farms.

 

Responsibilities:

  • ·         You will perform as an expert in the area of wind data analysis providing support to the development team on wind energy projects
  • ·         Use relevant software to micro-site turbines based on maximum yields
  • ·         By performing daily check-ups of wind data you will report a monthly data report to the senior management team
  • ·         You will utilise your expertise in order to provide data and perform modelling of wind flows
  • ·         Your area of expertise will be in collection, storage and analysis of wind data, the modelling of wind flows and annual energy prediction calculations.
  • ·         You will liaise with outside authorities regarding EAP calculations and report on optimal bankable P90s.
  • ·         As the team specialist you will be responsible for the collection, storage and cleaning of bankable wind data
  • ·         Your results and data will ultimately make you responsibly for the site selection for the wind mast in order to achieve the optimal output
  • ·         You will also be involved in the wind mast instrumentation layout design and assessment of wind regimes for turbine class suitability

 

Education:

Degree or relevant work experience in wind resource analysis

 

Core Requirements:

  • ·         Background knowledge and work experience in wind flows and wind energy converters
  • ·         Knowledge of Best Practise in the capture and interrogation of wind data and ways to reduce uncertainity
  • ·         Use of WAsP software for wind modelling.
  • ·         Skills in MCP software, utilising a range of wind data types
  • ·         Use of WindFarmer, WindPRO to build P50 and P90 AEPs
  • ·         Knowledge Brazilian requirements for development a wind farm
  • ·         Excellent analytical and presentation skills
  • ·         Ability to interpret and interrogate large complex dataset.
  • ·         Knowledge and experience working with the Microsoft Office suite
  • ·         Excellent reporting skills

 

General requirements

  • ·         Will have 2-3 years experience in the onshore wind energy market
  • ·         A wind analysis background working on wind farm projects
  • ·         Excellent communication, written and presentation skills
  • ·         Fluent in English and Portuguese (written and verbal)
  • ·         The ability to travel within the internationally
  • ·         A keen interest in the  wind sector and a desire to see it progress and be part of its development in the South America
