The purpose of the role is to manage and coordinate the technical evaluation and analysis of wind farm developments in Brazil. This includes: - management of wind monitoring equipment, evaluation of new wind energy regions; preliminary assessment and design of new wind farm sites;
- conducting due diligence on development and operational sites that Pacific Hydro Brasil (PHB) is considering purchasing;
- providing technical support for planning, development, connection and construction work.
This role will focus on installation and operation of wind monitoring masts and identification of wind farm sites of existing and new projects in Brasil with a view of assisting with the evaluation of such projects against Company risk profiles. 2. KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESULT AREAS
MET MAST OPERATION
- Update meteorological stations' wind databases
- Manage the installation, maintenance and dismantling of wind monitoring towers through subcontractors.
- Recommend and oversee equipment installation complying with international best practice guidelines (eg IEA).
- Ensure high data quality.
SITE IDENTIFICATION & WIND FARM LAYOUT DESIGN - Participate in the analysis of new site selection in Brazil.
- Undertake area analyses (desktop) and related site visits
- Prepare preliminary wind assessment reports on new geographical areas/sites for wind energy developments including use of the World Wind Atlas etc.
- Evaluate and select prospective mast locations for wind monitoring.
- Prepare preliminary wind farm layouts.
- Participate in the analysis of new site selection in Brazil.
- Participate in due diligence carried out on wind farm sites PHB considers purchasing from other companies.
- With the support of Executive Manager, Wind Services make recommendations for site rejections
CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS. - Manage micro-siting, including coordination of input from planning, connection, construction and contract management staff.
- Liaise with Construction Team on wind farm construction wind farm design requirements.
GENERAL - Provide technical support to the management team as required

5.KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE (INCLUDING QUALIFICATIONS) AND SKILLS Knowledge and Experience - Equivalent Tertiary Engineering Qualifications – eg Energy, Aeronautical Engineering, Meteorology
3-5 years experience in wind power industry - Proven knowledge of relevant software packages, such as WindPRO, AutoCAD, Excel, WAsP, , Windrose and GIS-related applications.
- Sound wind farm identification and resource evaluation experience
