Wind Deployment Project Leader position, responsible for managing projects and for work delivery and technical leadership in the areas of wind resource assessment, wind project technical and economic viability, market barrier resolution, and wind industry stakeholder engagement and education.
•Has primary responsibility for managing wind deployment, engineering-analysis related projects including initial proposal reviews.
•Responsible for scoping and budgeting of innovative engineering-analysis and resource assessment projects.
•Holds responsibility for technical work delivery and manages:
- Project scoping, resource planning and project management for projects focused on engineering-analysis with advanced problem solving skills.
- Identifying and pursuing opportunities for advanced model development, innovative programs, theories, and approaches to accelerating the wind energy development process.
- Identifying and pursuing market opportunities for policy, economic and/or technology assessments.
- Managing input and tracking for project budgets.
•Develops collaborations and pursues business development opportunities with other organizations, facilities, federal agencies, state, county, municipal, and tribal entities, as appropriate.
•Leads proposal reviews and proposal preparation (works with management and senior staff to develop external funding).
•Publishes results in technical journals/conference proceedings; presents work at
conferences, symposia, and review meetings.

This is a 12 month temporary position that may be renewed based on funding or may end at or before the 12 month period.
Relevant PhD or equivalent relevant education/experience.

Or, relevant Master's Degree and 3 or more years of experience or equivalent relevant education/experience.

Or, relevant Bachelor's Degree and 5 or more years of experience or equivalent relevant education/experience.
Complete understanding and application of project management principles, concepts, practices and standards. Full knowledge of technical field and related disciplines.

Very good interpersonal, conflict resolution, teaming and communication skills.
Demonstrated experience in the areas of wind energy technology, resource assessment, wind energy project design, engineering, and development, and stakeholder engagement and education.
Demonstrated project development experience within the wind industry. Working familiarity with other RE technologies (solar, biomass, geothermal, hydro, and efficient buildings) a plus. Experience with business development/strategic planning helpful.
