Responsibilities and Tasks
Reporting to the Siting and Performance Manager, the key tasks are to:
- Support the commercial process by providing technical expertise and giving recommendations to sales, construction and service departments. - Perform wind and site analyses, IEC classification, including determinations of wind resource and site characteristics. - Develop wind turbine site layout and select turbine configurations according to standards, power production, infrastructure and costs. - Select nominated wind turbine positions for power curve verification. - Develop advanced tools and technical solutions for our customers. - Collaborate with Technology R&D as main interface with local customers for research projects. - Represent Vestas at international forums, conferences, seminars and events. Qualifications and Work Experience
As a Wind and Site Engineer you will have:
- Bachelor/Masters degree, preferably in physics, engineering and/or environmental science. - Two or three years working experience, in managing loads analysis, wind data analysis, wind resources and micrositing preferably obtained in a similar position in an international environment. - Strong knowledge of statistical analysis and International Normative IEC 61400-1 & 12. - Good knowledge of specific wind resource software (such as Wasp, Windpro, Windsim). - Knowledge about CFD (Computational Fluids Dynamics) and Loads will be an advantage. - Excellent command of English (additional MED languages would be an advantage). - Excellent communications skills, customer orientation and proven ability to work cross functional as well as externally with customers and consultants. - Strong organisational, analytical and problem solving skills.
