OAI is looking for a candidate with expertise in wildlife toxicology and familiarity with mixing zones for municipal and industrial point source wastewater outfalls.
Candidates should have familiarity with the body of literature on effects of anthropogenic pollutants on wildlife, particularly marine mammals. Candidates should be able to critically review a biological assessment for mixing zones in Cook Inlet, Alaska, and be able to advise staff on whether a submitted biological assessment is sufficient. If not, candidate should be able to identify what additional information is needed to make an effects determination for Cook Inlet beluga whales and their designated critical habitat.
