Wildlife Supervisor

Location: Nantwich, Cheshire

Salary: £18,908 -£19,995 per annum

Hours: 35 per week (4 on, 2 off rota)

The RSPCA, the world's largest and oldest animal welfare organisation, has a rare opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join the wildlife centre team as a Supervisor at Stapeley Grange Wildlife Centre. Stapeley Grange is one of the busiest wildlife rehabilitation centres in the country receiving more than 5500 wildlife and exotic admissions each year.

The main responsibilities of the post include:

Supervision of the daily operation within the busy wildlife rehabilitation centre, (alongside two other Supervisors); line management responsibilities; project design and coordination. The post holder will manage a small team of wildlife assistants and will be responsible for annual appraisals, providing support and motivation whilst working alongside the team on a day to day basis.

The successful candidate should have:

  • Substantial experience in UK Wildlife rehabilitation, preferably more than 5
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
  • Good communication skills and experience in line management and team leadership
  • A veterinary nursing qualification and/or a zoology/ecology related BSc or equivalent is a strong advantage, as is any zoo work or wildlife related conservation work.

The job will involve evening and weekend work.
