Wildlife Campaign Assistant

Description 

WildAid is a unique and dynamic San Francisco-based wildlife conservation non-profit working to end illegal wildlife trade in our lifetime.  Using top-level international celebrity ambassadors and Hollywood-quality media campaigns in China, SE Asia and the US, the small, entrepreneurial team leverages an annual $6 million budget into $200 million in pro-bono broadcast and other media.

The Wildlife Campaign Assistant will support multiple, fast-paced wildlife campaigns focusing on reducing global demand for elephant ivory, rhino horn, shark fin and manta ray.   The Wildlife Campaign Assistant will be responsible for advancing day-to-day activities on multiple wildlife campaigns, including tracking progress and timelines, coordinating internally and with partners, researching and preparing briefings for campaign communications, and preparing reports and funding proposals.  Travel will be required (30%), sometimes at short notice, both within the US to Washington DC/New York, and internationally to China, Vietnam, London, etc.  Compensation days are not generally given for travel.  They will report to the Managing Director and work closely with the Executive Director, Chief China Representative, and Campaign Manager.

 Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in advancing the Shark, Elephant and Rhino campaigns 
  • Assist in tracking program progress according to timelines and workplans
  • Assist in liaising with China office on programs and specific arrangements related to meetings and events
  • Assist in liaising with Freeland in Thailand and Vietnam
  • Assist in liaising with partners, such as STE, AWF, WWF and National Geographic
  • Assist in preparing and fact check briefing documents and presentations
  • Assist in preparing content for donor reports, annual reports, monthly newsletter, e-blasts & press releases
  • Assist in preparing funding proposals
  • Assist in providing content for website and social media on the campaigns
  • Other duties as requested
