Job Description:
 
The Wildlife Biologist/Project Manager will be responsible for client management and resource agency coordination, project management relating to planning and implementation of biological surveys, supervising and mentoring of biological technicians in and out of the field and personally conduct biological surveys (aerial and ground).

Qualifications

 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise biological technicians.
  • Conduct, lead and monitor biological surveys.
  •  Writing technical reports.
  • Manage all client correspondence.
  •  Energy and natural resource project management.
Basic Qualifications:
  • M.S. in wildlife biology or closely related field.
  •  Must be an expert in navigation using maps and GPS.
  • Must have a working knowledge of ArcGIS.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to operate four-wheel trucks and All Terrain Vehicles (ATVS).
  • Must be able to be in the field for long extended periods of time.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
  • Strong knowledge of short-grass prairie/shrub-steppe vegetation.
  • Familiarity of NEPA and conservation planning.
  • Previous consulting experience or biological resources management.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Access.

  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision making capabilities.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information.
  • Excellent problem solving skills with ability to analyze situations, identify existing or potential problems and recommend solutions.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)
