Hours: 2 x approx 35 hours per week and 1 x approx 24 hours per week
The RSPCA, the World's largest and oldest animal welfare organisation is looking for three casual Wildlife Assistants to join the team at West Hatch Wildlife Centre, working for the rehabilitation of wild animal casualties and their integration back to the wild. These posts are summer placements for a period of up to 6 months, and involve shift work (early and late).
The main responsibilities of the post include:
• Admitting, caring for, preparing for release, releasing and monitoring wildlife casualties according to the standard procedures and protocols of the centre.
• Accurately recording information and assisting in the collation of statistics.
• Carrying out all care and rehabilitation procedures, as defined in the centre protocols, for the benefit of the injured wildlife.
The successful candidate should have:
• Bird identification skills
• Wild animal handling experience
• Good communication skills
• Driving licence
• Experience of working in a wildlife rehabilitation centre, veterinary practice or animal centre preferred.

All posts will involve working to rosters, including some evening and weekend work.
