Location: Stapeley Grange Wildlife Centre, Nantwich, Cheshire Closing Date: 24.03.2012 Ref: SGWAVN/589/N Salary: £15,035 - £15,715 per annum Allowances: 6% unsocial hours premium Hours: 35 hours per week (7 day roster) The RSPCA, the world’s largest and oldest animal welfare organisation, is looking for 2 Wildlife Assistants (Veterinary Nurse Registered) to join the team at Stapeley Grange Wildlife Centre, Nantwich, Cheshire, working for the rehabilitation of wild animal casualties and their integration back to the wild. These posts involve shift work: 4 days on, 2 days off. Shifts consist of early shifts (8am - 4pm) and late shifts (1pm – 9pm). The main responsibilities of the posts include: Admitting, caring for, preparing for release, releasing and monitoring wildlife casualties according to the standard procedures and protocols of the centre. Carrying out euthanasia of wildlife casualties unable to be released, in line with RSPCA policies. Accurately recording information and assisting in the collation of statistics. Carrying out all care and rehabilitation procedures, as defined in the centre protocols, for the benefit of injured wildlife. Ensuring medication prescribed by the veterinary office is correctly administered and to oversee the safe handling of drugs and accurate record keeping. Intensive care nursing of cattery in-patients and administration of treatments. The successful applicants should have: • A Veterinary Nursing qualification NB.
