Description

TRAINEE OPPORTUNITY

Job Title: Wilder Reserves Volunteer Trainee Wardens 5 x positions

Fixed Term of 11 months

Closing Date: 15th august

Interview Date:  TBC

Salary: This is an unpaid voluntary position.  Reasonable travel and other authorised expenses may be claimed.

Based at: Various locations throughout Kent,

Canterbury, Maidstone, Sevenoaks and Dover

Globally and nationally wildlife is in steep decline. We appear to be reaching critical tipping points around the loss of biodiversity as well as around climate change, both being interlinked. Human society cannot prosper without wildlife and healthy ecosystems.

The Job: We are recruiting 5 Wilder Reserves Volunteer Trainee Wardens to work alongside experienced Area Wardens to assist with the day-to-day management of a range of important conservation sites, whilst gaining practical conservation experience and training. The role would be ideal for someone seeking a career in conservation or nature reserve management.

Valuable experience will be gained in practical habitat delivery, volunteer management and using a wide range of livestock to deliver conservation grazing with a pro-active and forward thinking organisation.

You:  You will demonstrate an aptitude and enthusiasm for practical wildlife conservation work and a proven interest in UK wildlife. The post comes with an extensive package of training opportunities and represents an ideal apprenticeship for those seeking a career in nature conservation.
