The Student Conservation Association (SCA), America's #1 conservation service organization seeks qualified applicants to lead, educate, and inspire young adults for our WildCorps program. WildCorps is a partnership between SCA and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) which completes a wide variety of conservation projects on lands within the National Landscape Conservation System (NLCS). The WildCorps team is composed of 1 Project Leader and 4 members. The team will complete a variety of conservation projects throughout BLM managed lands in Southern California. These projects may include, but are not limited to: vertical mulch restoration, fence/hard barrier construction, public outreach, route monitoring, water monitoring, kiosk installation, fence removal, trail construction, and other conservation projects as needed. During field based hitches of up to 12 days in length, the team will live and work out of tent camps, in close proximity to worksites. Field-life is rugged, and while on hitch, members and leaders should expect to live without electricity, running water, and cell phone reception; additionally, while on hitch, this program is alcohol and tobacco free.
