Description

Scottish Wildcat Action is an HLF funded partnership project with the long-term aim of restoring viable populations of Scottish wildcat in northern Scotland. Key threats to the wildcat include on-going hybridisation with domestic cat, accidental persecution and diseases from feral cats. The project runs to 31st March 2020 and operates a number of conservation actions in discrete geographic ‘wildcat priority areas’. These actions include managing volunteer led camera surveys for wildcats, hybrids cats and feral cats; working with volunteers to trap-neuter-vaccinate-return hybrid and feral cats; and working with land managers to reduce risks to wildcats.
