Fisheries Management Scotland is seeking to appoint a dynamic and ambitious individual to support our members in efforts to conserve and restore wild Atlantic salmon. This exciting new role is funded by Crown Estate Scotland for a period of three years. We are seeking a Wild Salmon Conservation Manager to support Scotland’s District Salmon Fishery Boards and Rivers and Fisheries Trusts efforts to secure a future for Scotland’s wild Atlantic salmon, sea trout, freshwater fish and the habitats on which they depend. The successful individual will also engage with Scottish Government and Agencies at a national level to support delivery of key strategies and policies. These include the Wild Salmon Strategy, Biodiversity Strategy, River Basin Management Planning, the Riverwoods Initiative, and the roll out of reformed agricultural payments. In parallel with our work on Nature Finance, we anticipate that a key role of the Wild Salmon Conservation Manager will be to support Fisheries Management Scotland members in developing high quality applications to the resulting fund(s) to support work to restore the aquatic environment for the benefit of wild Atlantic salmon and sea trout.
