Description

Groundwork London is a community charity with a green heart that has been at the forefront of social and environmental regeneration in London for over 20 years. Each year we deliver hundreds of innovative environmental and social action projects across the capital. Our projects change places and lives for the better in some of London’s most deprived and disadvantaged neighbourhoods. This includes working with communities to make their neighbourhoods greener and more resilient to climate change, supporting long-term unemployed individuals to find work, helping young people get back into education and training, and advising residents how to save money on their energy and water needs

The Nest is Groundwork London’s mental wellbeing support service for young people aged 11 – 25 and living in the London Borough of Southwark. Since launching as a remote service in May of 2020, right in the middle of the Covid-19 Pandemic, The Nest has gone from strength to strength and we are looking for passionate, experienced, skilled and empathetic individuals to join the team as we get ready to expand our offer to include support for 0 – 10’s.

The Nest’s 0 – 10’s Practitioners will have knowledge and experience of delivering 1:2:1 and whole family interventions for under 10s, as well as an understanding of the barriers and challenges that children, young people and their families can face when seeking mental wellbeing support. You will have to have the ability to engage and work with a range of young people with multiple support needs.

You will provide remote and face to face interventions to encourage mental wellbeing self-management in both 1:2:1 and group work settings. You will work closely with the families of children and young people to help them support their wellbeing and build positive relationships with community stakeholders.

The successful candidates will be strong and effective communicators with the ability to speak and behave empathetically with people at all levels. You will also have a strong understanding of the mental health and well-being issues faced by young people, and of how these impact their lives and those of their families. You will be willing to go the extra mile required to ensure the timely and effective delivery of our services to the young people, their families and carers whose needs and the support they require are central to this role and the service.

Interview date; 15th of September (interviews will be conducted remotely)
