The mission of The Nature Conservancy is to preserve the plants, animals and natural communities that represent the diversity of life on Earth by protecting the lands and waters they need to survive.
The Seasonal Stewardship Assistant participates in preserve operations, maintenance and management and assists in the restoration of habitats on preserve lands. This may include one or more of the following functions:
Assists with on-site implementation of projects including: operating hand tools and chainsaws, removing exotic species, applying herbicides, and planting native species
Maps project sites and assists with invasive species mapping using GPS and ArcGis
Assists with other stewardship tasks including mowing, trail maintenance, and preserve inspections
Maintains stewardship program records
Interact with the public through environmental outreach and the enforcement of preserve regulations.
Interact with the public both to conduct environmental outreach and enforce preserve regulations.

Provide natured based programs to the general public
Communicates regularly with supervisor and stewardship staff regarding site information
Maintains preserve facilities, signs, public use and parking areas and trails
