The Great Plains Region of Ducks Unlimited, Inc. (DU) is seeking an experienced conservation specialist for Wyoming. The conservation specialist will work under the direction of the Manager of Conservation Programs for Colorado & Wyoming and become part of a team of biologists, engineers, and other professionals. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with the Wyoming Game and Fish Department and Environmental Protection Agency as part of cooperative position to develop a Wetland Program Plan and then deliver conservation objectives identified under the plan. The successful applicant will collaborate with private landowners, conservation partners, and promote conservation programs in Wyoming. The position is funded through September 30, 2018 and may be extended, subject to available funding. The position will be located at the Wyoming Game and Fish Department's regional office in Casper, Wyoming. Qualifications Candidates must have a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in a natural resources field with 2 years of related experience. Applicants must have a working knowledge of wetland ecology, waterfowl, shorebird, and water bird biology, state/federal wetland conservation programs, policies, and laws. Understanding of various wetland conservation programs (e.g., NAWCA, etc.) as well as state and federal regulatory requirements (e.g. National Historic Preservation Act and Clean Water Act) as they relate to wetland restoration and enhancement is beneficial. Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to manage multiple projects, wetland restoration and enhancement experience are required. Familiarity with Wyoming's biological resources, local and regional environmental issues, and private and public stakeholders is beneficial. Duties and Responsibilities
