Reports to: Director of product development, R&D
 
BACKGROUND
 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
 
1.      Develop new wet chemical processes to enable advanced solar cell designs on Suniva’s technology roadmap
2.      Evaluate alternative equipment sets available for PV manufacturing, determine process capabilities and manufacturing readiness and recommend new processes for manufacturing to improve costs, yields and or performance of the existing and new products
3.      Responsible for scheduling maintenance, upgrades on designated process modules
4.      Responsible for training R&D and line personnel as required and work with manufacturing engineers to improve production line yields and performance and transfer newly developed wet chemical processes from R&D to production
5.      Support a program of continuous improvement consistent with company business objectives
6.      Other duties as assigned
 
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
1.      Four-year degree in Engineering, (Electrical, Chemical or Materials Engineering preferred)
2.      Direct experience in developing and evaluating wet chemical processes for silicon products and interacting with equipment vendors is required
3.      Strong preference will be given to candidates with direct experience in Photovoltaics or other Semiconductor manufacturing
4.      Experience with advanced statistics, statistical process control and design of experiments methods
5.      Experience with implementing or sustaining lean manufacturing practices is desirable
6.      Good communication skills and ability to work in teams is essential
