The Natural Resources Defense council (NRDC) is a non-profit national environmental organization with more than 1.2 million members and online activists.  Our principal offices are in New York City, Washington, DC, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago and Beijing, China.  Our staff of over 300 includes attorneys, scientists, policy analysts and educators working to protect the environment and public health through advocacy and education.  In the U.S., NRDC seeks to curb global warming and promote a clean energy economy, revive the world’s oceans, ensure safe and sufficient water, save endangered wild places and species, protect public health by preventing pollution, and create sustainable communities.

NRDC’s Renewable Energy Team is working to ensure the rapid and sustainable deployment of renewable energy resources that are needed to help stabilize the climate while simultaneously protecting wildlife, water and other natural resources.  The team is composed of more than 30 scientists, engineers, lawyers and MBAs who are located in three of NRDC’s U.S. offices – New York, Washington and San Francisco – and who belong to three of NRDC’s programs – Land, Air & Energy and Climate.  Staff in this program work together collaboratively to advance the goal of promoting environmentally responsible generation and transmission of renewable energy at multiple levels – state, regional and national – and in  multiple ways, including through coalition-building, legislative and administrative advocacy, participating in multi-stakeholder processes and working directly with developers and investors.
