The Western Montana Land Steward participates in operations, maintenance,and management of Conservancy-owned lands in Western Montana.  This is a seasonal position running from approximately June 6 to November 18, with a 5 ½ months maximum employment period.  For more information on Conservancy projects in western Montana, visit www.nature.org/montana. Duties may include one or more of the following functions:
• Maintains Conservancy lands frequented by the visiting public.
• Monitors for compliance to the Conservancy’s Montana Legacy Project Open Lands Policy.
• Communicates with the visiting public.
• Manages exotic species and/or conducts exotic species monitoring.
• Assists with the administration of grazing leases and other land use agreements.
• Assists in the monitoring and maintenance of the Conservancy’s forest road infrastructure, including maintaining our stream crossing and road BMP inventories.
• Operates and maintains tools and equipment.
