West Berkshire Access Audit Officer

Salary: £20,084

Fixed Term 12 month contract

35 hours per week

Based in West Berkshire 

The Berks, Bucks & Oxon Wildlife Trust (BBOWT) is a membership-based voluntary organisation, managing 80 nature reserves, influencing land management and educating and encouraging all sectors of the community to care for local wildlife. 

This role has been developed in response to the transfer of nine countryside sites into BBOWT management.  BBOWT have undertaken to support and where possible improve visitor access and enjoyment on these nine sites. The role of the West Berkshire Access Audit Officer is to conduct relevant stakeholder consultation, and devise robust means of assessing both existing access provision, and the effects of any future improvements in relation to all user groups.  In addition, they will plan for improvements to the physical and intellectual access across the sites, thus enabling the widest range of the population to enjoy the Reserves and Commons.    

Applicants should have had experience of conducting Access Audits within the Environmental sector including countryside, byways, pedestrian access, and signage and should be confident in both writing and presenting reports.
