Suffolk Green Access is Recruiting.

Suffolk County Council looks after 5600km of public rights of way, 5000ha open access, the England Coast Path National Trail and other forms of green access. Our vision is ‘To get more people using and enjoying Suffolk’s green access network’. Every member of the Rights of Way and Access service plays a part in making this happen, and you can be part of that team.

We are looking for talented and innovative individuals who can:

  • understand and apply access legislation
  • help us improve and develop our green access network, in line with local and national priorities
  • deliver practical and fresh solutions
  • communicate effectively in person and in writing with land managers, contractors and the public
  • build partnerships with communities, agencies and other councils.

If you are looking to develop a career in promoting walking and cycling, or improving the public’s access to the natural environment, here is your opportunity. Suffolk is a county filled with natural beauty and over 50 miles of glorious coastline, home to historic towns and villages. Challenges include ensuring new developments protect and enhance green access and responding to the climate emergency.

Interviews will take place online, and training will be a mixture of online and in the office or field, where this can be done in line with Covid 19 procedures. You will need to be able to work from home for the foreseeable future with an internet connection that supports training and operational delivery of the post requirements.

For an informal discussion only please contact Claire Dickson on 07730 075253.

This organisation positively encourages the use of technology to communicate and engage, but in this role you will need to operate across a wide and rural area, so you must either hold a full and current driving licence and have access to personal transport or meet the mobility requirements of the role through other reasonable and suitable means.

Apply online at: www.suffolkjobsdirect.org or call 0345 601 4412 quoting the job ref.
