NEPCon is a mission-driven organization working to ensure responsible use of natural resources worldwide. Our core activity areas are certification, capacity building and environmental projects in forestry, wood processing and agricultural sectors. NEPCon has nearly 100 staff, located around Europe, Russia and Asia and operates through 12 legal entities.


NEPCon has engaged in sustainability services for more than 20 years, working with well-recognised certification schemes such as FSC and PEFC. We have also developed our own schemes for carbon footprint management certification and LegalSource certification of due diligence in legal timber sourcing.
In addition, NEPCon engages in international development projects that help to achieve our mission. Our projects work to help develop sustainability standards, conduct related research, develop knowledge in related fields, and build capacity among stakeholders. Our funders include development agencies, bi-lateral agencies, private foundations, and other private organisations. We engage in projects around the globe, including Europe, Asia and Africa.


NEPCon is currently seeking a skilled webmaster to help us maintain and develop our multilingual, international website, and maintain a top-quality professional online presence. In addition, the webmaster will aid in the development of additional online platforms being developed in conjunction with some of our ongoing international development projects.


Main responsibilities

  • Perform technical website maintenance and updates
  • Assist with updating website content
  • Provide support and training to editors and translators in regional offices
  • Handle issues and bugs
  • Coordinate efforts to maintain and upgrade NEPCon’s online presence; Google Analytics, Google Rank and ensure SEO across the website
  • Managing the organisation’s shared library of images, graphics and visual files.
  • Aiding in the development of additional online platforms as needed in relation to NEPCon’s ongoing international development projects.

Requirements

  • Enthusiasm for technical work and a generally out-going personality
  • Assertiveness to make suggestions for implementing new ideas or methods
  • Good ability and motivation to work on own initiative
  • Ability to work comfortably in multi-national teams across time zones
  • Capability to work independently, progress with agreed tasks and execute them in due time
  • Excellent verbal and written English skills (NEPCon’s working language)
  • Previous experience with CMS systems
  • Willingness and ability to travel abroad (short-term)
  • Alignment with NEPCon’s core values of sustainability, innovation, accountability, and team spirit.
  • A valid work permit.

The candidate will benefit from

  • Previous experience with the Drupal CMS system
  • The skills to migrate a site to new server, update theme, modules and core of Drupal CSM
  • Work experience with international and multilingual websites
  • Experience with other technical platforms or databases (e.g. Salesforce, SQL), especially cross-platform data integration and automation
  • Digital design skills, including the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with online campaigns and newsletters
  • International work experience (also remote and virtual teamwork)
  • Personal interest in environmental issues and motivation to make a positive difference.

Position details

  • Work time: full-time position
  • Working location: Denmark (Copenhagen or Aarhus), or potentially flexible for other NEPCon office locations (such as Tartu, Estonia).
  • Some short-term travel may be required.
