Part time position: Pro rata £18,000 – £24,000
This is a rare opportunity for a web and graphic designer at the Environmental Justice Foundation (EJF), a leading human rights and environmental charity. EJF is looking for a junior or graduate designer who has a passion for environmental causes and a creative flair. The successful candidate will work across all of EJF’s campaigns (cotton, shrimp production, climate refugees, pesticides, fisheries) providing a wide range of creative and effective communications materials as well as managing the technical side of EJF’s website. The post is part time, temporary 3 month contract with the possibility of a permanent contract to follow. The position is based at EJF’s office in Islington, London and will report directly to the Executive Director.
The candidate should have the following technical skills: - Design: Advanced in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, PDF production, image retouching - Web: Advanced in HTML (hand coding included), CSS, PHP integration (including minor modifications), php database management, shopping cart experience. Job description WEB DESIGN AND MANAGEMENT - Daily management of the EJF website and associated micro sites - Responding to requests from EJF team - Proposing updates and improvements - Managing daily site needs - Ensuring e-commerce and finance processes are legal and up to FSA standards - Integration of new media opportunities - Online campaign actions - Shared oversight of Google Adwords and Analytics and social media sites
PRINT DESIGN Design production from concept to print ready artwork of: - Film covers, sleeves - Reports, policy briefings, investigations documents, impact reports, information leaflets - Fundraiser packs - Awareness/fundraising post cards - Marketing materials for EJF shop and t-shirt trade projects - T-shirt design artwork - Call to Actions for campaigners - Digital advertising for own site and external websites - Newsletters - Organisational branding artworks
NEWSLETTER - Multiple e-shots/newsletters including: - HTML and CSS compliance design, managing list servers for regular givers, donors, event participants, RSVPS, media contacts
