Scottish and Southern Energy is one of the largest and most diverse energy companies in the UK.  We own and operate the electricity transmission and distribution networks across the North of Scotland, and are responsible for maintaining, repairing and updating these networks. 

As part of Scottish and Southern Energy, the Major Projects division is a focused delivery group responsible for delivering a wide range of construction projects within the UK.  We currently have opportunities for Wayleave Land Agents to form part of a team delivering challenging and complex projects on the electricity network throughout the North of Scotland.   

Duties will include:

  • Dealing with wayleave queries
  • Contacting landowners and occupiers to inform them about projects, tree cutting and other works
  • Obtaining landowner and occupier details for new and existing overhead lines, underground cables and access routes
  • Producing accurate records of Landowners and Occupiers for each project
  • Assessing and settling damage and compensation claims
  • Actively maintaining excellent relationships with landowners, occupiers and contractors for the duration of each project

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills with an ability to negotiate and manage wayleaves
  • Be highly motivated, organised and flexible, driven by successful project completion targets
  • Have the ability to multi-task a number of projects at any one time and to work under pressure

The role involves substantial travel and there may be occasions where an overnight stay will be required.  A full driving licence is required.
