Introduction

The OEM Waste Representative will be the main point of contact for the reporting structure for all waste leaving site, working closely with the Total Waste Management (TWM) Team.

The Job

Position Description:

Wastes not managed under the TWM contract are nevertheless visible to the Waste Representative and the TWM provider. Documentation is managed through this operation along with the Duty of Care evidence. For works taking place on site the Waste Representative and the TWM provider are engaged on the distribution and compliance of all waste containers. Key responsibilities of the job include: - Helping to formulate efficient and effective waste disposal plans and strategies - Liaising with waste and contractor companies - Managing outside contractors - Keeping statistical and legislative records. Prepare reports detailing legislative compliance. - Ensuring that current waste storage/disposal/handling/transportation legislation is complied with. - Monitoring levels of pollution from waste disposal sites - Dealing with process queries or complaints from OEM employees - Undertaking research. - Collaborating with environmental enforcement officers to investigate cases of illegal dumping and other eco-crimes relating to waste disposal. - Monitoring the efficacy of various schemes and liaising with members of OEM in order to understand their needs, so that vital improvements and adjustments to local waste management processes and procedures can be made. "

Experience Required:

There will be strategic and supervisory responsibilities. Knowledge of appropriate environmental legislation is a bonus however this can be taught if the applicant has the correct skills.
