The Location: Lake Macquarie, southern gateway to the coastal Hunter region, has a unique mix of beaches, lake and mountains providing an idyllic place to balance work and life. The Sustainability Department: The Sustainability department identifies, analyses, develops, and implements integrated environmental management and strategic planning to sustain and enhance the natural and built environment. Sustainability is responsible for natural resource management, natural disaster and environmental health risk management; waste services planning; climate change mitigation and adaptation management; State of the Environment reporting, environmental research, and community engagement. The Position: An experienced professional is required to assist in the development and implementation of waste management strategies in the largest city in the Lower Hunter. The Waste Planning Coordinator will assist in the management of Lake Macquarie City Council’s waste services, including both internally provided services and in externally negotiated contracts. This is an exciting opportunity at a significant, pivotal point in the sustainable management of waste for the fourth most populous city in NSW. This position will play a key role in reducing the waste footprint of Lake Macquarie City. The Benefits:
