The Location:

The Department:

The main aim of the Sustainability Department is to devise and implement strategies, both within the City of Lake Macquarie and the organisation itself, that maximise community wellbeing whilst reducing ecosystem footprints in the most economically efficient manner, in order to achieve local ecological sustainability and an equitable contribution to global sustainability.   

The Position:

An experienced professional is required to assist in the development and implementation of waste management strategies in one of Australia’s largest, growing areas.  You will assist in the management of waste services, including both internally provided services and externally negotiated contracts.  This is an exciting opportunity at a significant, pivotal point in the sustainable management of waste for Australia’s tenth largest local government area.  Lake Macquarie City Council strives to become one of the best local governments globally in achieving triple bottom line sustainability and this position will play a key role in this through reducing waste, water and global ecological (consumption) footprints of our city.
