Exciting Opportunity in Sustainable Waste Management

Lake Macquarie City Council is selecting individuals to form a new team to deliver globally equitable quadruple bottom line sustainability.  Opportunities exist at this significant, pivotal point in the sustainable management of Lake Macquarie’s waste, consumption impact, and water.  The city is uniquely placed in enjoying a wide range of potential management solutions owing to its location just 1.5 hrs north of Sydney and economies of scale afforded through being the 4th largest local government area in NSW.  The city’s location also provides excellent lifestyle benefits, with all the excitement and facilities of a capital city located in a beautiful and affordable environment of beaches, mountains and of course, the lake.

The Position:Are you an experienced person in contract management and procurement, who is motivated to develop and deliver existing and new waste services and infrastructure that make significant differences for the community and environment of Lake Macquarie?  If so then you will assist in shaping new waste management strategies by engaging in high-level negotiations and delivering contractual agreements for waste services.  You will also coordinate and supervise a small team of staff in the delivery of community education programs and campaigns related to waste and consumption impact minimisation.

The Benefits:

  • Leaseback vehicle
  • Flexible hours
  • Corporate fitness program
  • Free parking
  • Salary sacrifice
  • 10% superannuation
  • Long service leave after 5 years
