Duties: The Project Officer will report to the GAP Manager who is responsible for the project Position Title: Warru (Black-flanked Rock Wallaby) Recovery Officer
Location: Umuwa,Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Lands,South AustraliaSalary: $60,000 (approx.) base salary, plus district allowance, annual airfare, superannuation, annual leave loading and opportunity for salary packaging. Contract length: Until30/6/2013 depending on funding, renewed annually. Responsible to: Manager of APY Land Management (APYLM) Position Summary: The Warru Recovery Officer will be responsible for the development and day-to-day coordination and supervision of a small team of Indigenous Rangers in accordance with approved plans within the Working on Country Project: Caring for Warru on the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Lands. The position supports the use of Indigenous ecological knowledge and contemporary land management practices to manage 2 colonies of black-flanked rock wallabies.
