VP, Wind Energy Generation

The VP Wind Energy Generation Technologies leads First Wind’s wind turbine and battery energy storage system (BESS) supply and operations businesses.  The VP Wind Energy Generation Technologies will direct the procurement of all of First Wind’s turbine and BESS supply needs, engaging with vendors, leading commercial discussions on supply, operating services, warranty and related agreements and presenting supply choices to internal constituencies, including the Risk Committee. Frequent site visits will be required. 

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related or foreign equivalent plus 8 years renewable energy industry experience with a demonstrated track record of negotiating turbine vendor relationships, diagnosing turbine problems and enforcing warranty claims, resolving conflicts over operations and working with the operations team to maximize fleet performance; 5 years of experience in a senior leadership position and demonstrated track record of successfully building, leading and managing an energy/power organization, in the renewable energy industry, including hiring, managing and structuring individuals with specialist skills in to cohesive teams; 5 years of experience in the energy & utility industry with specific experience managing a portfolio of power production facilities; knowledge of energy industry & utility organization, practices and techniques; and knowledge of the basic laws, ordinances and regulations fundamental to energy & utility operation.
