This working farm offers volunteers a range of areas on which to focus their skills and efforts. The options include working with horses (volunteers assist with the daily care of horses, including feeding and grooming. More hands-on involvement is available to experienced horse riders), caring for domestic animals, and helping with the production of vegetables, herbs and fruits (volunteers will experience everything from Permaculture to astrological planting in accordance with the natural rhythms of the Earth and Moon). Volunteers with certain practical skills are also needed to ensure the continued maintenance and repair of the farm's infrastructure, vehicles and tools. The owners of the farm are experienced field guides and will share with volunteers their love of Africa and their knowledge of the environment. They will also help you to develop new skills, such as maintenance skills or how to make cheese and herbal remedies, and much more. No qualifications necessary - just a willingness to work, an open mind and a love of animals and outdoor life.
The project costs £198 for two weeks or £297 for 4 weeks. This includes accommodation, all meals, transfers on arrival and departure and will usually include the volunteers taking part in one farmer’s market and getting free transfers for a weekend away during their stay.
