An enthusiastic volunteer is needed to work in the Species Programme assisting with developing our portfolio of work on species valuation. The role will involve research on methods to assess the value of species and their role in ecosystems, as well as the identification, assessment and analysis of price datasets relating to species in international wildlife trade.

We are looking for someone who has an interest in species conservation and/or techniques for valuation of biodiversity, strong research and writing skills in English, and have or be studying for a degree in a relevant environment or economics field. A minimum commitment of two months would be ideal, either full or part-time but there may be room for negotiation, so please contact us if you are interested at species@unep-wcmc.org. The volunteer will be based at UNEP-WCMC’s office in Cambridge.

The United Nations Environment Programme World Conservation Monitoring Centre (UNEP-WCMC) aims to evaluate and highlight the many values of biodiversity and put authoritative biodiversity knowledge at the centre of decision-making. The Centre is the result of a collaborative agreement between UNEP and WCMC, a UK Charity. For more information, please visit www.unep-wcmc.org.
