Position Summary The Development Intern for Grant Programs will work with an experienced development professional on a variety of projects assigned according to the individual’s level of interest and skill in the grants process. Possible areas of work include grant proposal research and development, foundation prospect research, and non-profit communications. Interns will research funding opportunities, develop proposal concepts, assist with the production of communications pieces, and enter and maintain information about current and prospective funders in the Wild Salmon Center's Raiser's Edge database. The person in this position is expected to demonstrate excellent attention to detail along with good writing and analytical skills. A successful intern will develop skills in grant proposal writing, learn to use the Raiser’s Edge database, become acquainted with foundations that support environmental issues, gain competency in tools used for prospect research, learn about foundation cultivation and solicitation, and become familiar with nonprofit communications activities. This position could provide an intern with skills, experience and connections useful in future employment opportunities. Responsibilities May Include
