About you:

•A full current driving licence is essential.

•Capable in the practical delivery of countryside management.

•Experience of community engagement in outdoor volunteering.

About us:

Established in 1975, Hertfordshire’s Countryside Management Service (CMS) was one of the first initiatives of its type in the UK. We work in partnership with landowners and communities to develop projects that enhance the environment for people and wildlife. We also provide opportunities for informal recreation through leading events and guided walks, promoting cycle routes linking towns and the countryside and devising site based leaflets and interpretation. We have been accredited to the national Investing in Volunteers standard since 2010.

Responsibilities include:

•Resourcing and supervising one of our three mid-week practical conservation volunteer groups.

•Delivering access and conservation improvements in greenspaces.

•Recruiting and supporting volunteers to survey and improve our rights of way network.

•Co-ordinating part of the Hertfordshire Health Walks programme, England’s largest scheme.

•Working with local community based “friends” groups.
