Volunteer Coordinator (Plant surveys)

Hours: 3 year fixed contract. Full time or Part-time 4 days per week (note this post is available as a Full time or Part time post – we are equally interested in hearing from candidates who can do either. Please state your preference in the application form).

Salary: £25-27000 per annum (pro rata).

Base: Plantlife HQ, Salisbury

The Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for delivering an annual plant survey across England and Wales. They will need to maintain Plantlife’s existing volunteer network and recruit new volunteers. They will develop training programmes and guidance materials for volunteers and offer support by email and telephone. They will develop partnerships with organisations across England and Wales to ensure that plant surveys can occur in more remote regions and they will look to embed plant surveying within organisations, through those partnerships.

The post holder will be an independent self-starter with excellent and demonstrable project management skills. They will need to be someone who is approachable and engaging and has a genuine passion for wild plants reflected in their demonstrable botanical knowledge. They will need to demonstrate understanding and awareness of volunteer needs and experience of working with volunteers. They should be solutions focused and have excellent communication and IT skills.

This post requires some evening and weekend working for which time in lieu will be given. This post requires the post holder to stay away from home on occasions and therefore the post-holder should be aware of this requirement.
