Description |
Searching for an opportunity to gain practical field experience in conservation and marine biology? Like the sound of living on a tropical island with secluded beaches and coral rich, clear warm water? Do you want to learn how to SCUBA dive, experience life in far out places with likeminded people? The Madagascar Research and Conservation Institute is a government approved institute undertaking environmental research for and on behalf of the Malagasy Government and our partners. We are looking for research volunteers to help with research in the forests and coral reef filled waters surrounding Nosy Komba, an island off the northwest coast of Madagascar. The project base camp site is on the island, researchers will work under the guidance of our small team who provide full training and support. It is a fantastic opportunity to apply your existing abilities and learn new skills! The project is ongoing and start dates are the first Monday of each new month. There is no specific deadline and applications will be accepted until positions are filled. In order to participate in our project we ask volunteers to make a contribution, which covers all travel costs during your projects, full training, accommodation and meals, use of basecamp facilities and equipment, and a dedicated team to guide you. Whilst we can assist, you will need to cover your own pre-departure costs including flights, vaccinations and visas. Full costs can be found on our webpage at www.madgascarvolunteer.com. |
