This project is devoted to caring for animals affected by the black market animal trade in the Amazon jungle. It is looking for volunteers to help out with the animal rescue program and within the butterfly house. Volunteers have the opportunity to work with unique Amazon species such as coati, capybara, ocelot, jaguar, and many species of monkeys. Volunteers are especially needed to help with animal enrichment programs. Volunteers can also lead tours of the facility in English and any other languages spoken. In the butterfly house, volunteers assist with the breeding program (25 species of butterflies) plus maintain the butterfly house and associated host plants.
There is no cost to participate but volunteers are responsible for covering their own living expenses. Several low cost accommodation options (hostels) are available in a nearby village which start at £3 per day (less if staying longer than two weeks). Volunteers receive a free t-shirt.
