This project is looking for a volunteer to support the day to day running of a captive breeding centre for critically endangered and endemic animals. Duties include the feeding and maintenance of animals held in captivity, their monitoring, assisting with any captive breeding and hand rearing, upkeep of the grounds for the animals and environmental enhancement. The candidate may have opportunities to participate in other activities of the host organisation including assisting in field projects, education and awareness activities and assisting with VIP and scientific visits.
Candidate should be aged twenty-one or over and be prepared to volunteer for a minimum of six months. Experience of rearing and breeding birds, bats and tortoises is highly desirable. A degree in zoology or related subjects is an advantage, but not essential.
