Peru Volunteer and Travel is committed to helping children and adults of Peru. Every month we place many volunteers in a variety of professional and non-professional projects such as physical therapy, dental, vision, nursing, medical, sports education, music exchange, teaching English, tutoring Spanish, cultural immersion, sustainable development, agriculture, jungle conservation, childcare, internships and more.

We guarantee volunteers a life-changing experience here in Peru!

Peru is one of the most amazing countries in South America. Peru has it all: jungle, mountains, coast, desert and glaciers but the most extraordinary feature is the rich cultural history. The blend of cultural sights and adventure tours make Peru an exciting location for volunteers and travelers of all interests.

To add to the intrigue of this amazing country, Machu Picchu, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, is located in Cusco, Peru. Hundreds of people from all over the world visit Machu Picchu every day, as well as the Jungle and the amazing beaches along the Peruvian coasts.

Despite the jump in tourism, poverty is still a tremendous problem in Peru. Over 50% of the population live in poverty. Poor government economic policies and extreme inequality make living even harder for low-income families. There are thousands of children living in complete misery with either no parents or alcoholic ones. The lack of access to necessary commodities means more than 25% of children under five are extremely undernourished. In remote areas this number jumps to 70%. Furthermore low education standards continue to perpetrate these cycles of poverty, malnutrition and inequality. Many adults are living with fatal diseases and do not have the money or the access to medical services to be able to treat them. Additionally, there are many animals and plants in danger, especially in the jungle areas of Peru. Although the government offers a little help it is not nearly enough.

For these reasons, and many more, Peru is the right place to volunteer!
