OceansWatch is currently seeking a Climate Change Project Leader to assist us on an upcoming awareness campaign in the South Pacific. You should be very knowledgeable on Climate Change issues, particularly those related to marine environments; should have plenty of leadership experience; and a strong conservation activist background. Experience dealing with the media a plus, as this project is expected to have heavy international media coverage. You will be working with us in our office in New Zealand for 6-8 weeks making preparations for the trip that is scheduled to leave in mid April. You will then be sailing from NZ headed for Shanghai for the World Expo, with stops in many islands in the South Pacific that are strongly affected by Climate Change possibly including the Reef Islands in the Solomons. You will be at sea for approximately 5 or 6 months. Sailing experience would be an advantage, but is not necessary. Start as soon as possible! Currently this is a voluntary position, but we are working hard on funding options.
